The 2024 Carson Creepy Short Horror Film Competition was an exhilarating success, showcasing the incredible talent and creativity of local filmmakers. With over 300 attendees filling the Brewery Arts Center, the energy was palpable as horror enthusiasts gathered to celebrate the genre and support their community’s storytellers.
This year’s competition saw a record-breaking 52 teams enter, with 40 films making it to the finish line. The event featured two thrilling screenings, with the first showcasing 20 films at 3:00 PM, followed by another round at 7:00 PM. Each film offered a unique take on horror, demonstrating the diverse perspectives and creativity within our vibrant community.
We are immensely grateful to the Brewery Arts Center for their outstanding support and to our volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event a memorable one. A special thanks also goes to our awards sponsor, Galaxy Theaters Carson City, for providing fantastic prizes for our winners.

- Blake Snyder “Save the Cat” Award for Storytelling: “Devious Darling”
